BOOK AN AUTHOR VISIT STORY TIME
Welcome to my Author Visit Story Time, a fun and interactive (and imaginative!) event. During my one-hour story time, I will read my new book Little Ant & the Ice Cream Mystery and play several Little Ant games with the children. These games may include the following: An I Spy/Scavenger Hunt game where the students can find little ants, and other fun objects, in my paper garden. Another game, titled Make a New Adventure, invites the children to add different story elements to a Little Ant background board to create a new adventure. My Act Like the Little Ant game is a crowd favorite, offering the children a chance to get up and move their bodies like they have ants in their pants. I offer a What's Missing? game, testing the students' memories, a Guess that Sound game, requiring the use of their listening skills, and a Little Ant Game Show. Finally, I am about to unveil a new mystery game, in honor of my new book Little Ant & the Ice Cream Mystery. Each game is selected based on the size and set-up of the room, as well as the number of children in attendance, and their age range. After my reading, I will hand out a Little Ant coloring page, and the group will either receive their pre-ordered, signed copy of my book (Class Visit Story Time), or have a chance to purchase a signed copy at that time (Library Story Time).
The typical fee for a one-hour story time is $200. This may vary depending on your individual needs. Please contact me to discuss your story time event. For additional information, please see below.
ADDITIONAL STORY TIME INFORMATION
My Class Visit Story Time is roughly an hour long, and works best for children ages 4-6. Also, the ideal group would be a maximum of 30 children. On the day of the reading, I would come in about a half hour early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. They would also have a chance to pre-order any one of my Little Ant books, to be signed and delivered on the day of the reading. About 2 weeks before the reading, I would drop off the pre-order forms and ask to see the room. I would also ask that you hold onto whatever orders come in. About a week later, I would collect those orders, and have all books signed and ready to go home on the day of the reading. I would also bring in extra books for last-minute orders.
My Library Visit Story Time is similar to the above. It is roughly an hour long. On the day of the reading, I would come in about a half hour early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. After my reading, the parents would have a chance to purchase a signed copy of any one of my Little Ant books, while the children work on their coloring pages.
* Please note—at this time, I am only hosting story times in the Northern NJ area. I am located in Nutley, NJ, so any schools or libraries within the local area would be fantastic!
