Little Ant Children's Books by Ilene Dudek

ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION:

Games:

Below is a list of possible story time games. These games are selected based on the size and set-up of the room, the number of children in attendance, their age range, and the book that I am reading during my story time. I am always adding and adapting games, so check back often to see what's new!

I Spy/Scavenger Hunt: Students are invited to find little ants and other fun objects in a paper garden.

Make a New Adventure: The children must add different story elements to a background board—to create a new adventure for the little ant.

Act Like the Little Ant: This is a crowd favorite. Students have a chance to get up and move their bodies like they have ants in their pants!

What's Missing?: Several objects are placed on a table, and when one is taken away, the class must guess what's missing.

Guess that Sound: Children must use their listening ears to guess the different sounds they hear.

Little Ant Game Show: Students are tested on their general knowledge of the world around them.

Follow the Clues: The group must follow different clues to see which character will reach the ice cream first.

SCHEDULE AN AUTHOR VISIT STORY TIME

STORY TIME VIDEOS

Welcome to my Author Visit Story Time, a fun and interactive (and imaginative!) event. During my one-hour story time, I will read my new book Little Ant & the Ice Cream Mystery and play several Little Ant games with the children. After my reading, I will hand out a Little Ant coloring page, and the group will either receive their pre-ordered, signed copy of my book (Class Visit Story Time), or have a chance to purchase a signed copy at that time (Library Story Time). The typical fee for a one-hour story time is $200. This price may vary depending on your individual needs. Please contact me to discuss your story time event.

STORY TIME COLORING PAGES

Class Visit Info:

My Class Visit Story Time is roughly an hour long, and works best for children ages 4-6. Also, the ideal group would be a maximum of 30 children. About 2 weeks before the reading, I would drop off pre-order book forms and ask to see the room. I would also ask that you hold onto whatever orders come in. About a week later, I would collect those orders. On the day of the reading, I'd come in early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. I would hand over the pre-ordered books to the teacher, as well as a coloring page for the class to enjoy.

Library Visit Info:
My Library Visit Story Time is similar to the above. It is roughly an hour long. On the day of the reading, I would come in early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. After my reading, the parents would have a chance to purchase a signed copy of any one of my Little Ant books, while the children work on their coloring pages.

* Please note—at this time, I am only hosting story times in the Northern NJ area. I am located in Nutley, NJ, so any schools or libraries in the local area would be great!
